Dear Parade Participant,

This Memorial Day will mark 102nd year that Leasure-Blackston Post 239 of the American Legion has sponsored the Worthington Memorial Day Parade. Thanks to your participation, this parade has become a premier event in Ohio for honoring the veterans and serving members of the United States armed forces.

Veterans, come one, come all. Calling all Military Personnel;
we would love to have you in the Worthington Memorial Day Parade to honor you for your Service to our country.

About the Parade
The parade will be held on Monday, May 30st, 2022. We will be stepping off promptly at 10:00 a.m. from the corner of East Dublin-Granville Road and Morning Street. The Parade route is approximately 1.2 miles long.

The Worthington Memorial Day Parade has always been about recognizing all the Men and Women that have served or are serving this great country in United States Armed Forces.
Every person / group in the Worthington Memorial Day Parade should focus on patriotism, and/or honor veterans, and honor those currently serving in the military. Examples of this are playing patriotic music, and/or wearing red, white, and blue, and Please, display the American Flag whenever possible and do so with reverence and respect.
Remember the reason of this occasion, to honor the members of the United States Armed Forces, past and present.
Some of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Staging information may be obtained after May 25th, 2022, by going to www.alohio239.org and click on the News button on the left side and get a parade line up there, or by calling the American Legion Post. (phone number listed above and below)

How to Enter Your Group
This parade is run completely by volunteers and due to rising cost we will not be mailing out any postcards / forms.
Your group can be entered by clicking on the Sign-up link at the top of this page. Applications will also be available at the American Legion Post 239.
Note: If you are no longer the Contact / Point Person for your group, please forward this information to your replacement.

Rules

• No throwing candy or any other items / objects etc. (For Safety Reasons) Yes, you may "HAND" out candy, but take it to the curb. Free of Peanuts, Tree Nuts and Eggs List
• No Signs, Shirts, Flyers or Hand-outs stating: “Running for…,” “Elect…,” “Candidate for…,” etc.. These and any similar words are strictly prohibited.
• Political banners are not permitted.  This is not a political parade.
• Current office holders may have signs stating their name and office only.
• Remember the reason of this occasion, honoring the members of the United States Armed Forces, past and present.
• Obey the instructions of the American Legion volunteers and others helping with staging and traffic control.
• Please display the flag whenever possible and do so with reverence and respect.
  Any violation of the above may result in immediate removal from the Parade and no Parade participation the following year(s).
• Keep up with the pace of the parade.
• Have fun, be respectful, be courteous, and be safe. "If You See Something, Say Something"
